Characterization of putative secretory sites on ameloblasts of the rat incisor.

摘要: The distribution and structure of the putative sites where enamel matrix is secreted from ameloblast were studied by correlating external topography with organelles in Tomes' process cut various planes section. Both interrod rod secretion are associated deep membrane infoldings. It was found that site completely surrounds each ameloblast, marked interdigitation adjacent cells results a cooperative growth front for enamel. In contrast, present on only one surface interdigitating portion process. Numerous granules observed to infoldings both sites, seen fused suggesting merocrine product.
