摘要: Monitoring defects in a pipeline are very important particularly for buried pipeline. The ability to identify location, type and size of the always necessary save time cost. Thus, this research project embarks on identifying defect location estimating by using Acoustic Emission (AE) technology. Data were acquired from two inch diameter pipe with 1mm thickness low cost piezoelectric sensors. Location was estimated based difference arrival coming Results show that can be within certain degree accuracy. In addition, different sizes have also been studied artificially induced as well actual defect. Defects introduced both axial radial direction test pipe. AE data pencil break has collected each processed few parameters such R.M.S., energy, amplitude time-frequency domain. All these then normalized reference value correlation between developed. results there good correlations parameter when increased direction. short, it is shown technology capable locating giving estimation
