摘要: Following a suggestion by Kingery and Francois, the theory of grain growth in porous compacts controlled migration pores with boundaries is developed for all possible transport processes. Contrary to assumption these authors, it shown that cubic rate law reported both UO2 Al2O3 compacts, if due pore migration, must be interpreted as being vapor through pressure maintained at 2γ/r, where γ surface tension r radius. Available data are analyzed according this model found give satisfactory agreement, calculated activation energies reasonably close heats vaporization two oxides. An interesting prediction compact should fact show decrease density during growth. This behavior has been observed case but apparently not yet Al2O3.
