摘要: In the genus Colletotrichum, reliance on morphological criteria has led to much taxonomic confusion. last few years, analysis of rDNA sequences resolved many questions and it is now possible propose a new taxonomy for genus. Examples incorrect identification are discussed. Accurate predictive taxonomy, coupled with full understanding extent phenotypic variability, essential meaningful diagnosis. If diagnosis correct, then pathogen behaviour can be predicted its control, avoidance, elimination, etc become easier.
