摘要: Rapid improvements in network bandwidth, cost, and ubiquity combined with the security hazards high total cost of ownership personal computers have created a growing market for thin-client computing. We introduce THINC, remote display system architecture high-performance computing both LAN WAN environments. THINC transparently maps high-level application calls to few simple low-level commands which can be implemented easily efficiently. introduces number novel latency-sensitive optimization techniques, including offscreen drawing awareness, command buffering scheduling, nonblocking operation, native video support, serverside screen scaling. an XFree86/Linux environment compared its performance other popular approaches, Citrix MetaFrame, Microsoft Terminal Services, SunRay, VNC, X. Our experimental results on web applications demonstrate that as much five times faster than traditional systems latency environments is capable playing full-screen at full frame rate.
