摘要: The American Thoracic Society (ATS) recently adopted a new set of 26 standard flow-time waveforms for use in testing both diagnostic and monitoring devices. Some these have higher frequency content than present the ATS-24 volume-time waveforms, which, when produced by mechanical pump, may result pump flow output that is less desired due to gas compression losses within pump. To investigate effects compression, was used generate necessary flows test mini-Wright Assess peak expiratory (PEF) meters. Flow from measured two different independent methods, pneumotachometer method based on piston displacement pressure Measuring has been validated using PEF meter, found accurately measure output. This introduces resistance (lower back-pressure) dead space volume series with meter under test. Pump be lower meters (for waveform No. 26, PEFs 7.1 10.9% lower, respectively). compensate we developed deriving input drive commercially available reliably produces ATS even those fastest rise-times.
