摘要: A variety of oxidizable but self-protective materials are potential candidates for reinforcing media in ceramic-ceramic composites use as high-temperature structural components oxidizing environments. The oxidation kinetics 10% to 30% dispersions particles SiC and MoSi{sub 2} well whiskers fully dense matrices alumina, mullite, a silicate were determined from 1,200{degree} 1,500{degree}C. 2}, which form coatings silica when heated bulk pieces, exhibit an increase their parabolic rate constants 15-fold incorporated alumina or mullite almost 30-fold strontium-aluminum-disilicate matrix. Reaction mechanisms discussed.
