A Literature Review on the Effectiveness of Financial Education

摘要: This survey summarizes current research on financial literacy efforts. Because most programs are relatively new, much of the literature reviewed here is also new and part a field that still developing as program research. However, we can conclude education necessary many existing approaches effective. Among findings some households make mistakes with personal finance decisions; more common for low income less educated households; there causal connection between increases in knowledge behavior; benefits appear to span number areas including retirement planning, savings, homeownership, credit use.
