摘要: Predicting the rate of leaf appearance, or phyllochron, aids in understanding and modeling grass development growth. Nine equations predicting phyllochron wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) were evaluated using field data from a variety locations, cultivars, management practices. Each equation is referred to by last name first author; if there more than one author, additional descriptors included. The BAKER KIRBY predict based on changes daylength following seedling emergence; CAO-TEMP CAO-DAY use curvilinear relationship with temperature daylength; VOLK mathematically refines CAO-TD MIGLIETTA-DAY adds photoperiod effects ot MIGLIETTA. No adequately predicted phyllochron. r 2 values between measured for winter spring respectively, (0.001, 0.486, (0.002, 0.487), (0.000, 0.174), (0.013, 0.008), MIGLIETTA 0.405), (0.100, 0.190), CAO-FIELD (0.078, 0.036), tended overestimate phyllochron; remaining biased towards underestimating Equations developed had greater range phyllochrons. Based multiple criteria, best experimental set. Other factors must be added improve predictions. Much opportunity exists our ability
