摘要: A series of four cell lines resistant to the toxic effect copper were developed from Morris rat hepatoma cells by gradually increasing concentration in growth medium. The EC50, that kills and/or inhibits 50% after 72 h, increased 4-fold over for wild type most line. These also zinc, cadmium, and mercury toxicity, but not nickel or cobalt. amount soluble protein pool proportionally with medium which they maintained. Associated accumulation was production an 18-kDa cysteine-rich complexes a significant metal. It is suggested resistance toxicity due sequestration metal this protein. When removed copper-enriched environment, cellular levels rapidly fell observed cells, no reduction either EC50 level noted. This suggests permanent change responsible had occurred maintained absence
