摘要: The bacteriology of anorectal sepsis in a district general hospital has been reviewed to see whether the information gained helped patient management. Forty-six patients with were reviewed, underlying fistulas identified nine (19.5%). Bacteroides species not routinely subtyped department. It was found that isolation unspecified helpful identifying those fistulas. Unless subtyping is specifically requested, pus from should be sent for bacteriology.
