摘要: The reproductive altruism in social insects is an evolutionary enigma that has been puzzling scientists starting from Darwin. Unraveling how skew emerges and maintains crucial to understand the involved consequent division of labor. regulation adult worker reproduction involves conspecific inhibitory signals, which are thought be chemical signals by numerous studies. Despite primary identification few ligands, action modes primer pheromones regulate their molecular causes effects remain challenging. Here, these questions were elucidated comprehensively reviewing recent advances. coordination with other modalities queen (QPs) its context-dependent manner suppress discussed under vast variation plasticity during colony development across taxa. In addition effect QPs, special attention was paid studies revealing regulatory brood pheromones. Considering correlation between pheromone hormone, this study focused on production perception endocrine control highlighted pivotal roles nutrition-related pathways. novel chemicals gene pathways discovered works provide new insights into understanding labor insects.
