摘要: Cervical and lumbar disc replacements are being performed with increasing frequency. Much of the background for development these implants is drawn from literature other joint that have been in evolution use decades. Important variables function longevity such arthroplasty clearly defined by material properties components used their production. The most frequently considered materials cobalt-chrome alloys, titanium stainless steels, polyethylene, polyurethane ceramics. In addition to implant materials, interfaces must be considered. bearing surfaces an implant, particular, at risk wear failure. Overall, successful, long-term total requires a thorough understanding biomaterials how they can achieve desired goals.
