Domain Wall Tunneling in a One Dimensional Ferromagnet

摘要: We report studies of the motion individual domain walls in very narrow Ni wires. Using measurements electrical resistance, we have observed pinning and de-pinning on structural defects. The behavior fields required for suggest that this process is thermally activated at high temperatures, occurs via tunneling low temperatures. cross-over temperature found to be ~ 4 K, which order magnitude agreement with theory.
