摘要: Firmness is a critical quality factor in kiwifruit marketing. We propose simple dynamic force/deformation (F/D) test to evaluate firmness nondestructively. Various parameters from low-frequency F/D were compared data Magness-Taylor (MT) puncture curves. Resonant frequencies did not adequately predict as measured by MT maximum force (r = 0.60), while amplitudes at low predicted better 0.81). The more closely related slope of the curves than force, parameter traditionally reported. Amplitudes near 60 Hz found be best predictors values 0.88). Adding 98 regression equation improved prediction only slightly (R 0.91). A relatively tester could devised on basis 60-Hz vibrations.
