摘要: This analysis examines data at the census tract, city, and metropolitan area levels. In addition to primary question of income versus density in affecting commuters' modal split, other factors influencing mode choice are considered, such as a destination's regional prominence or worker's access heavy-rail transit. Given cross-sectional analysis, findings that work-trip is significantly determined by (and/or proxied -- higher land prices parking fees, more frequent transit service, congested roadways), not income. fact, absolute value elasticity percentage workers driving alone with respect (approximately +0.35) than twice per-capita (roughly -0.1). Furthermore, variable was found be highly (statistically) significant across all regressions (i.e., 1 percent level), whereas rarely even (10 level).
