摘要: Abstract Crashworthiness is the ability of a structure to withstand crash event ensuring safety its passengers. The aim this work investigate damage onset and evolution in composite fuselage barrel undergoing vertical drop test on rigid surface. mechanical behaviour has been assessed by means Numerical-Experimental study. Indeed, experimental data from full scale test, performed at CIRA facilities, have used conjunction with numerical results, obtained an advanced 3D FEM model, investigate, detail, deformations development during event. adopted three-dimensional based explicit FE formulation, uses Continuum Shell elements CDM take into account intra-laminar damages each subcomponent investigated barrel. results compared terms accelerations, displacements provide preliminary validation model. A special attention given sub-components which demonstrated mainly influence global test.
