摘要: The prognostic value of gender and age in the survival nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients treated with intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) is unclear. Several studies have suggested a female advantage prognosis solid tumors. We investigated relationship between differences disease outcome NPC IMRT South China. A total 299 non-disseminated were analyzed retrospectively. was delivered simultaneous modulated, accelerated boost technique at prescribed doses 70 Gy/30 fractions/6 weeks to primary tumor (GTVp) positive neck nodes (GTVn), 60Gy (2.0 Gy/day) clinical target volume (CTV) upper region 54 Gy (1.8 clinically negative low neck. median dose 9.2 (4–20 Gy) administered persistent site. With follow-up 52 months, male had significantly unfavorable 5-year OS (70.7% compared 94.1%, P < 0.001), DPFS (71.5% 87.3%, P = 0.029) DMFS (77.2% 89.7%, P = 0.036) than patients. In younger 45, poorer (66.8% 91.2%, P = 0.008), (59.9% P = 0.005) (66.4% 94.0%, P = 0.004) For older only (72.2% 96.0%, P = 0.001) different. Gender are strong independent factors for this study. first report that more likely distant metastases exhibited inferior overall progression-free rates other
