摘要: The association of hydroxyapatite deposition with osteoarthritis pathogenesis and progression remains controversial, even after decades study. Hydroxyapatite crystals are found in advanced disease only. Even then, such small amounts that special analytical techniques required to detect the crystals. Further, osteoarthritic joint fluid appears noninflammatory, suggesting have very effect on pathologic process. Formal histopathologic evidence is scant, but crystal within synovium or cartilage a rare event. may be present at end-stage osteoarthritis, insufficient contribute significantly progression. This review critically examines from synovial fluids, imaging, histopathology determine whether well-characterized vitro cellular reactions apply human osteoarthritis.
