摘要: Purpose: The purpose of this investigation was to develop and test a model for identifying hospital charges resulting from patient admissions through the emergency room children’s manage pediatric nontraumatic dental disease. Method: Model development involved data identification collection at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, Texas. Its utility tested in 4 hospitals across United States. Results: proved effective determining caries-related admissions. Diagnosis codes assigned time admission were not specific enough limit Extensive review records determined that only one-third admitted patients identified by Fifty-two children who 5 1997 due caries or its complications. Median charge per $3,223 total these 52 $250,000. Conclusions: More ICD-9 diagnosis should be developed identify patients. (Pediatr Dent 22:21-25, 2000)
