Magnetic orientation of isotactic polypropylene

摘要: Abstract Magnetic orientation of a low molecular weight isotactic polypropylene (iPP) is reported. Unlike other crystalline polymers for which the magnetic has already been reported by our group, iPP was less expected to undergo because its repeating unit does not contain aromatic rings are main source diamagnetic anisotropy. The observed samples melted in field (6 T) temperature range between 180 and 240°C followed cooling. This well above melting point (168°C). X-ray crystallization kinetics measurements indicated that some ordered structure exists this range. obtained quenching exhibited crystals with b -axis aligned parallel field.
