摘要: BACKGROUND: Tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha has pleiotropic effects in cytokine-mediated inflammation underlying atherogenesis. Activation of this inflammatory process is assumed to be different diabetic and non-diabetic individuals. Previous studies subjects showed no association between TNF-alpha -308G>A polymorphism coronary artery disease. METHODS: Vascular complications cytokine serum concentrations were assessed as a function the 76 patients on low-dose aspirin. RESULTS: Of adult patients, 18 (24%) carried -308A allele (17 AG, 1 AA) 58 (76%) wild-type alleles (GG). Prevalence macrovascular was 33% carriers (AG+AA) 78% (GG) (p A (p<0.001) HDL-cholesterol (p=0.007) while confounding further variables excluded. CONCLUSION: modulates aspirin. Diabetic might benefit more from prophylaxis with low dose aspirin than non-carriers.
