摘要: Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) are the main source of tissue fixed charge density (FCD) in cartilage, and lost early arthritic diseases. We tested hypothesis that, like Na+, charged contrast agent Gd-DTPA2- (and hence proton T1) could be used to measure FCD GAG concentration. NMR spectroscopy studies cartilage explants demonstrated that there was a strong correlation (r > 0.96) between T1 presence sodium concentrations. An ideal one-compartment electrochemical (Donnan) equilibrium model examined as means quantifying from concentration, yielding value 50% less but linearly correlated with validated method Na+. These data basis an empirical which quantify or more sophisticated physical developed. Spatial distributions were easily observed T1-weighted MRI trypsin interleukin-1 induced degradation, good histological correlation. Therefore, equilibration gives us opportunity directly image (through weighting) concentration GAG, major critically important macromolecule cartilage. Pilot clinical penetration into suggesting this technique is clinically feasible.
