摘要: GaToroid is a concept of toroidal gantry for hadron therapy under investigation at CERN. It makes use the magnetic field between each pair coils to steer and focus particle beams down patient. This peculiar requires detailed studies on tracking beam optics optimize winding geometry explore properties system. The work presented in this manuscript focused features system protons, specifically designed minimize footprint weight gantry. Firstly, two-dimensional single was developed coil field, aiming maximization energy acceptance magnet. Particles over whole spectrum treatment are directed isocenter within 1 mm precision. procedure, restricted symmetry plane coils, defines different orbits, function energy. Subsequently, three-dimensional implemented evaluate interaction finite dimensions with complete map vacuum. parameters simulated coherent clinical requirements. results were then used calculate linear transfer matrix associated orbit. Finally, option performing spot scanning by acting upstream steering magnet has been investigated, highlighting potential concept, as well limitations related dimension source-to-axis distance. In conclusion, described paper represent crucial step toward understanding
