摘要: Synaptic transmission between photoreceptors and horizontal cells (HCs) was studied in the flat-mounted isolated retinas of tiger salamander. Background illumination expedited rise time HC light response, response (HCRRT) reached steady state about 2 sec after onset background illumination. The change HCRRT is probably responsible for background-induced enhancement responses to short stimuli. amplitude 100 msec steps presence 2–5 times larger than that measured under dark-adapted conditions. exerted little effect on cones bipolar cells, thus it caused no significant those cells. correlated closely with rod voltage but not voltage. These results suggest mediated by postsynaptic events HCs because course observed (which share same synapses HCs). A suppressive action cone inputs may be modulating HCRRT. By shortening HCRRT, regulates frequency photoreceptor-HC synapse alters capacity spatial resolution retinal
