摘要: The Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) is one of the most viable access technologies for provision broadband services to users. However, scalability EPON has become a limiting factor in realizing architecture with large coverage and high number subscribers. EPONs longer reach higher split ratios have been successfully demonstrated by researchers overcome physical limitations ratio standard PON architecture. Nevertheless, 1 Gb/s bandwidth that shared among larger users degrades efficiency especially terms data rate utilized each user. In this paper, we propose simple active remote node (RN) media control (MAC) forwarding scheme an achieve improved performance arising from ratios. works conjunction protocols does not modify underlying functionalities network. simulation results show improvement latency (up 90 ms improvement) up 18% enhancement capacity or 16% increase use RN structure.
