摘要: Management shortcuts in conservation biology, like the umbrella species concept, have been debated worldwide. Umbrella used to identify and delineate protective areas, but habitat requirements of can also provide tangible targets ecological restoration. In Sweden, forest habitats restored for white-backed woodpecker (WBW, Dendrocopos leucotos) under assumption that it will benefit other habitat-associated (background) species. this thesis, concept was evaluated based on response wood-inhabiting (saproxylic) beetles restoration WBW. The WBW is a top-predator saproxylic food webs associated with broadleaved trees, critically endangered Sweden because commercial forestry practices disadvantage trees reduce dead wood availability.
