摘要: A new configuration of DC motor/generator is based on a Halbach array permanent magnets. This motor does not use ferrous materials so that the only losses are winding and due to bearings windage. An "inside-out" design used as compared conventional design. The rotating portion, i.e., rotor, outside machine. stationary stator, formed by inside rotor contains an magnets provide uniform field. windings placed in or stator. stator then "switched" "commutated" much same motor. commutation can be performed mechanical means using brushes electronic switching circuits. invention useful electric vehicles adjustable speed drives.
