摘要: Valproic acid is an established structural and neurodevelopmental teratogen. Recently, we demonstrated that valproate alters the barrier function of perfused term human placentas. Here, conducted a pilot study to evaluate effects subchronic exposure on carrier expression in cultured placental villous explants from early pregnancies. Placental tissue gestational age 6-13 weeks was collected elective pregnancy terminations women without known epilepsy. The (42, 83, or 166 μg/mL) mRNA 37 major carriers related genes were evaluated by customized gene array (n = 5, 5 days). Five-day associated with high variability expression. However, two main clusters identified, including cluster three folate carriers. Exposure low therapeutic levels (42 tendency toward reduced encoding amino fatty (P 0.065, paired analysis). Our initial findings suggest can affect placenta during pregnancy.
