摘要: Research on human social interactions has traditionally relied self-reports. Despite their widespread use, self-reported accounts of behaviour are prone to biases and necessarily reduce the range behaviours number subjects, that may be studied simultaneously. The development ever smaller sensors makes it possible study group-level in naturalistic settings outside research laboratories. We used such sensors, sociometers, examine gender, talkativeness interaction style two different contexts. Here, we find collaborative context, women were much more likely physically proximate other also significantly talkative than men, especially small groups. In contrast, there no gender-based differences non-collaborative setting. Our results highlight importance objective measurement behaviour, here enabling us discern context specific, style.
