摘要: Purpose To compare change in numbness and pain after carpal tunnel release patients with electrophysiologically moderate severe disease. Methods We tested the primary null hypothesis that there is no difference total Carpal Tunnel Symptoms Scale score 3 months surgery between those Ninety-five (47 cohort, 48 cohort) who had miniopen November 2011 2013 were identified from our prospectively collected database. For each patient, score, as well subscale scores, at preoperative postoperative (2-wk, 1-mo, 2-mo, 3-mo, ≥ 1-y) visits documented. The data analyzed repeated-measures analysis of variance. Results Three surgery, syndrome (CTS) reported, on average, symptoms, disease reduced but unresolved symptoms. Although symptoms diminished both groups assessment to 2-week assessment, CTS comparatively more all time points exception 2 weeks 1 year or longer which times was significant difference. At (2%) patient 9 (19%) reported continued Preoperative electrodiagnostic severity factor most predictive symptom scores. Conclusions Patients experience considerable reduction should be informed recovery may prolonged and, some cases, incomplete release, particularly regard numbness. Type study/level evidence Prognostic III.
