摘要: Experimental and analytical investigations of scarf joints indicate that slight bluntness adherend tips induces adhesive stress concentrations which significantly reduce joint strength, the distribution through thickness is non-uniform has significant at ends joint. The laminate stacking sequence can have important effects on distribution. A improvement in strength possible by increasing overlap expense raising repair slightly above original surface. Although a surface grinder was used to make most experimental specimens, hand held rotary bur surprisingly good scarf. Scarf wit doublers one side, such as might be for repair, bend under tensile loads may actually weaker than without doublers.
