摘要: Aspects of numerical results from computational experiments on representative volume element (RVE) problems using finite analyses are discussed. Two different boundary conditions (BCs) examined and compared numerically for elements with sizes, where tests have been performed the uniaxial tensile deformation random particle reinforced composites. Structural heterogeneities near model boundaries such as free-edges particle/matrix interfaces significantly influenced overall solutions, producing force displacement fluctuations along boundaries. Interestingly, this effect was shown to be limited surface regions within a certain distance boundaries, while interior showed almost identical strain fields regardless applied BCs. Also, thickness BC-affected remained constant varying sizes in models. When size large enough regions, structural response most found independent BC that apparent properties converged effective properties. Finally, mechanism leads RVE heterogeneous materials is discussed terms region.
