摘要: A multilayer coating system for the protection of carbon-carbon composites is described. The includes an inner layer SiC (produced by a conversion process in which Si diffused into carbon substrate) and outer CVD (chemically vapor deposited) Si3 N4. Such provides exceptional oxidation resistance, to 2500° F. (1371° C.) above, materials. Optionally, preliminary coatings or pyrolytic graphite can be applied prior application SiC.
