摘要: We report a collision-induced Raman band by room temperature gas mixtures of sulfur hexafluoride and nitrogen. The is centered at the sum frequencies symmetric-stretching ${\ensuremath{\nu}}_{1}$ transition ${\mathrm{SF}}_{6}$ fundamental ${\mathrm{N}}_{2}$, its intensity scales as product partial densities gases. observed process evidence double incoherent scattering (DRS) ${\mathrm{SF}}_{6}\ensuremath{-}{\mathrm{N}}_{2}$, in which both molecules simultaneously undergo two Raman-allowed transitions. was found to be almost fully depolarized, agreement with previous observations other systems theoretical predictions. Its integrated about one-third higher than total area predicted leading-order dipole-induced dipole model. This discrepancy suggests that DRS practical means assessing quality intermolecular potential models, which, case still believed not good enough. Our work expected open door multitude studies involving complicated processes encountered nonpolar gases their mixtures, are direct relevance atmospheric research.
