摘要: Removal of the lower epidermis from a tobacco leaf allows faster and wider range water fluxes, without damaging mesophyll. It also permits more direct examination photosynthetic potential tissue at various levels hydration. The rehydration rate discs is essentially linear. decreases with age correlated dehydration, but it independent tissue's potential, as estimated by isopiestic method. The hydraulic permeability coefficient influx directly related to tissue, suggesting mechanism for regulaton hydration level tissue. The "energy activation" amounts about 9 kilocalories per mole intermediate greatly declines following loss in excess 600 milligrams gram fresh weight. excessive dehydration characterized major increase (monitored efflux ions materials absorbing ultraviolet light) parallel decrease activity. interrelationship these effects discussed.
