摘要: The interplay between liquid crystals and gold nanoparticles, i.e. crystalline nanoparticle materials, is challenging as well fascinating for creating novel functional materials. resulting hybrid materials hold great promise in many applications such displays, optics, optoelectronics, sensors, metamaterials due to their unique properties. In this chapter, the fundamentals of nanoparticles are introduced, intriguing progresses although early stage, summarized discussed. These not only could improve device performances, but also well-organized driven by intrinsic nature crystal contribute very interesting research topic metamaterials, a class artificial having properties that never exist unusual electromagnetic (e.g. negative refractive index cloaking devices).
