摘要: Peripheral nervous system (PNS) toxicity is a frequent adverse effect encountered in patients treated with certain therapeutics (e.g., antiretroviral drugs, cancer chemotherapeutics), occupational workers exposed to industrial chemicals solvents), or during accidental exposures household and/or environmental agents pesticides). However, the literature and expertise needed for effective design, conduct, analysis, reporting of safety studies identify define PNS are hard find. This half-day course familiarized participants basic biology; causes mechanisms pathology; classic methods current best practice recommendations sampling, preparation, evaluation; examples commonly observed lesions artifacts. Three concluding case presentations synthesized information from prior technical lectures by presenting real-world caused drugs demonstrate how may be addressed evaluating product nonclinical studies. Topics emphasized comparative correlative data among animal species used clinical evaluation humans order facilitate translation into human risk assessment respect toxicologic pathology.
