On structural instabilities in mixed valence compounds

摘要: Abstract In the framework of periodic Anderson model coupling 4f electrons with longitudinal optical phonons and its implications on different types structural phase transitions in mixed valence compounds is discussed. We show that phonon induced 4f–5d interband can lead to a discontinuous change occupation state.
