摘要: Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) is produced by and affects a number of immune inflammatory cells. As part the response, NGF directly or indirectly alters sensitivity small diameter sensory neurons that communicate noxious information. The question remains as to receptors intracellular signaling cascades mediate this sensitizing action NGF. Although general consensus produces peripheral sensitization activating TrkA, recent work suggests p75 also contributes. Thus, both appear contribute although whether they act independently together be determined. Furthermore, controversy exists downstream pathways involved in NGF-induced sensitization.
