摘要: Children with medical complexity (CMC) are a medically fragile pediatric population that experience severe chronic illnesses resulting in significant health care needs, functional limitations, and utilization, at the highest risk for morbidity mortality among all children. Furthermore, families parents of CMC caregiver hardships diminished quality life. The field palliative has grown recent years, part to address physical psychosocial issues inherent these chronically ill However, as prevalence long-term survival increases advancements, demand will likely exceed capacity current future specialists. Therefore, alternative strategies ensure access essential aspects must be considered. This article focuses on why how high-quality should integrated into patient- family-centered home, ideal delivery model their families. We first discuss principles naturally align complement goals home. Next, we detail what actions specialists can take best support home "medical neighbors."
