摘要: A susceptibility locus for schizophrenia in the 'pseudo-autosomal' region has been proposed on basis of reported excess sex-chromosome aneuploidies (e.g. XXY and XXX) among patients with finding that schizophrenic sib-pairs are more often same than opposite sex. This hypothesis tested 83 sibships two or siblings fulfilling Research Diagnostic Criteria schizoaffective disorder. Alleles at pseudo-autosomal telomeric DXYS14, which is unlinked sex, were analysed using method affected sib-pairs. Affected sibs shared alleles DXYS14 frequently expected by random Mendelian assortment, supporting genetic linkage between schizophrenia.
