摘要: Bacterial polysaccharides are present at the outer surface of bacteria and constitute principal antigens in most pathogenic bacteria. Comprehensive structural studies have been carried out on a number capsular lipopolysaccharides using chemical degradation techniques nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. However, these require milligram quantities purified polysaccharide not amenable to microanalysis. Mass spectrometry has proven be powerful tool for rapid analysis characterization bacterial microscale, including cells directly. Of many mass spectrometric that applied polysaccharides, electrospray ionization–mass is probably significant one. This chapter discusses state our knowledge concerning methods isolation, analysis, spectrometry-based important biomolecules.
