摘要: In order to evaluate a commercial immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody capture enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA) (Wellcozyme HIV1 + 2 Gacelisa; Murex Diagnostics Limited, Dartford, United Kingdom) for the detection of antibodies human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in vaginal secretion samples (VS) from HIV-seropositive and -seronegative women, serum (S) VS were obtained 129 African women living Central Republic, country high HIV prevalence. Sera tested by routine second-generation ELISA with confirmatory Western blot (immunoblot) (WB). By Gacelisa IgG immuno-capture assay, 45 positive 84 negative, whereas WB, 44 confirmed 85 negative. Considering WB as reference, immunocapture assay was 97.7% sensitive (43 samples) 97.6% specific (83 negative samples). Of 42 41 (97.6%) had S that both (S+ VS+), 87 HIV-seronegative 83 (95.4%) (S- VS-). Five discordant results VS. One VS-) possibly false-negative result. Two VS+) similar indeterminate patterns WB. typical HIV-positive pattern on VS, one case other case; prostatic acid-phosphatase strongly suggesting recent sexual intercourse an man. Because all HIV-infected men have detectable seminal fluid, rape victim should receive short-term antiviral therapy prevent possible transmission.
