摘要: Tourism on small tropical islands in the Global South is a balancing act between development to improve local livelihoods and conservation of fragile coastal coral ecosystems. The objective our study develop series new spatial metrics support sustainable through assessing direction magnitude tourism conflict groups. We surveyed 317 individuals out an estimated total population 3300 using public participation GIS (PPGIS) Tioman Island, Malaysia. Here we present first example how nuances can be articulated spatially across different levels attitude toward within segments population. Our results suggest that treating as homogeneous risks missing place specific conflicts locations agreement where managed sustainably with community.
