摘要: Abstract Ceiling fan is proven to have a beneficial effect on increasing air velocity and reducing temperature stratification thus saving energy for high ceiling applications. Studies show that the velocities produced by large diameter, mounted fans do not produce negative or positive human comfort. Recently, smaller, been introduced market as an alternative these diameter provides similar savings due reduced destratification, while still moving fast enough cause discomfort, though products studied less. This study simulates compares performance of both small using validated computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model. Two different types destratification are investigated their in destratifying temperatures warehouse style retail stores. A portion store used base create test environment. Simulations speed (SDHSF) very good at bringing well-mixed column all way floor, but spaces without directly overhead hardly affected. The low (LDLSF) able mix nearly entire space, they created uncomfortable drafts near head height. Between two fans, LDLSF more successful SDHSF better only specific, smaller area. Varying also allows maintaining acceptable draft velocities.
