摘要: Oral contraception is effective, convenient, and reversible. For most women it also remarkably safe. Some people involved in family planning go further imply that the oral contraceptive pill almost free of risk. This creates an illusion shattered whenever adverse effects—however rare—are brought to light. In October 1995 Committee on Safety Medicines United Kingdom warned contraceptives containing desogestrel or gestodene carried a small increase risk venous thromboembolism compared with older preparations. The chaos followed Britain (and few other countries) may have stemmed partly from absolute safety, as well publicity triggered by warning.
