A neutron diffraction study of HfFe6Ge6-type ErMn6Ge6−xGax compounds (x=0.2, 0.4 and 1.0)

摘要: Abstract The HfFe6Ge6-type ErMn6Ge6−xGax compounds (x=0.2, 0.4, 1.0) have been studied by powder neutron diffraction. ErMn6Ge5.8Ga0.2 compound orders antiferromagnetically at 460 K in a collinear easy axis magnetic structure characterized doubling of the c-axis. Below Tt=270 K, helimagnetic takes place and persists down to 50 K. this temperature, ferrimagnetic with moments aligned along c-axis is stable (μMn=2.21(5) μB μEr=8.60(8) μB). ErMn6Ge5.6Ga0.4 394 From 300 120 it arrangement. In both cases, normal perpendicular [001] direction. 110 direction ferromagnetic component Mn Er refined 2 are μMn=2.21(6) μEr=9.06(11) μB. ErMn6Ge5Ga ferrimagnetically 373 moment reorientation around 200 At high temperature close (001) plane whereas low they align μMn=2.23(6) μEr=9.40(12) Evolutions magnitudes, magnetocrystalline anisotropy interlayer couplings, as function Ga content nature rare earth element, discussed.
