摘要: Among the existing environmental assessments of bioethanol, studies suggesting an benefit bioethanol all ignore constraints on availability biomass resources and implications competition for has assessment. We show that toward 2030, regardless whether a global or European perspective is applied, amount biomass, which can become available other energy uses, will be physically economically constrained. This implies use land production most likely happen at expense alternative uses. In this perspective, we case new advanced technology, in terms reducing greenhouse emissions fossil fuel dependency, more lost than gained when prioritizing bioethanol. Technology pathways involving heat power and/or biogas, natural gas electricity transport are advantageous.
