摘要: The pre-main-sequence (PMS) star V1647 Ori has recently undergone two optical/near-infrared (OIR) outbursts that are associated with dramatic enhancements in the stellar accretion rate. Our intensive X-ray monitoring of this object affords opportunity to investigate whether and how intense emission is related PMS activity. analysis all 14 Chandra X-Ray Observatory observations demonstrates variations luminosity correlated similar changes OIR brightness source during both (2003-2005 2008) eruptions, strongly supporting hypothesis primary generation mechanism for outbursts. Furthermore, spectral properties second eruption were strikingly those 2003 eruption. We find spectra obtained immediately following outburst-during which exhibited high luminosities, hardness ratios, strong variability-are well modeled as a heavily absorbed (N{sub H} {approx} 4 Multiplication-Sign 10{sup 22} cm{sup -2}), single-component plasma characteristic temperatures (kT{sub X} 2-6 keV) consistently too be generated via shocks but range expected heated by magnetic reconnectionmore » events. also absorbing column not changed significantly throughout observing campaign. Since correlated, we hypothesize these reconnection events either occur stream connecting circumstellar disk or accretion-enhanced protostellar coronal activity.« less
